Earth Day
High School Program
Burlington Mall has sent a letter to all Burlington High Schools asking them to call on us on Earth Day to help them clean-up. We want each school to tell us where they want us to help clean-up and why.
We also want each school to tell us what they are currently fundraisng for - maybe it is a trip, maybe new equipment or maybe a green initiative?
We will select one school to receive the following:
- Our team will help them clean-up their designated area.
- The first 100 participants will receive an ecoHero t-shirt.
- We will donate $1,000 to their fundraising program.
Ask your Principal or Student Council representative about this letter or email us at klaronde@ivanhoecambridge.com to get a copy of your school letter.

Every Day Heroes
Film Competition Launched for
Earth Day 2010
Earth Day Canada, in partnership with Art for Commuters and Onestop Media Group, producers of the Toronto Urban Film Festival, is calling on filmmakers, young and old, established and aspiring, to submit 90-second silent videos to the Every Day Heroes Film Competition. Video submissions are to tell the story of every day environmental heroes and their dedication to supporting a healthier environment.
Earth Day Canada developed the competition to celebrate the 40thAnniversary of Earth Day and the 20th anniversary of Earth Day Canada. The leading environmental charity wanted to take the emphasis off itself for its anniversary year, choosing instead to celebrate the environmental accomplishments of every day Canadians.
Canadians are doing amazing things to reduce their impact on the environment. This is an opportunity to showcase the work of these every day heroes.
During Earth Week (April 17 to 25, 2010), finalists will have their videos screened in Ivanhoe Cambridge Shopping Malls across the country, on the Onestop Network of 270 monitors on the subway platforms of the Toronto Transit Commission, as well as hosted on Earth Day Canada’s YouTube channel and website. Prizes will be awarded in four categories:
- BEST of ‘Under 18’—13 inch MacBook Pro
- Best of ‘18 and Over’—13 inch MacBook Pro
- The People’s Choice Award—
